Hung Lo Village Festival in Phu Tho
The Hung Lo Village Festival is an annual event held from the 9th to the 13th day of the lunar March in Hùng Lô commune, Viet Tri City.
The festival’s ceremonial section includes rituals such as offering gifts to the Hung Kings, consisting of traditional square and cylindrical glutinous rice cakes (bánh chưng and bánh giầy), fruits, and various items crafted by the villagers.

Following the ceremony, the villagers organize a procession to the Hung Temple. The procession typically involves 200 to 400 people dressed in traditional festival attire, parading four elaborately decorated palanquins adorned with golden threads and intricate carvings.
The festive section features a variety of entertaining, cultural, artistic, and sports activities. Traditional folk games, including human chess, cockfighting, blindfolded drum beating, quick wrapping and cooking of square cakes, cultural performances, and volleyball competitions for both men and women, are among the highlights.
The Hùng Lô Village Festival strongly reflects the cultural and religious traditions of worshiping the Hung Kings, attracting a large number of locals and visitors to participate in the festivities.
