Located in Ba Khan Hamlet, Tan Mai Commune, Phu Tho Province, Bakhan Village Resort is where the Da River flows day and night, surrounded by hills, forests, and the largest infinity pool in Northwest Vietnam.

Son Thuy Commune lies at the foot of Thung Khe Pass, where mist and clouds linger all year round. With its picturesque landscape of rivers, lakes, and rolling mountains, Son Thuy is often compared to “Ha Long Bay on the mountain.”

Just about 125 km from Hanoi (a 2.5-hour drive), visitors can reach Tan Mai by taking the Thang Long Boulevard, following the Hanoi – Hoa Binh Expressway, and then National Highway 6 for about 40 km to Thung Khe Pass, where signs will lead the way. The concrete-paved roads into Son Thuy are easy to travel, with widened sections for cars. Son Thuy is home to the Muong ethnic group, who mainly farm corn, rice, raise livestock, and cultivate bamboo, luong, and forests that paint the area with a lush green.

From the center of Son Thuy, it is just 2 km further to reach Bakhan Village Resort, easily recognized by its large entrance gate with the resort’s name. Behind the resort are hills and villages, while in front lies the vast, tranquil Da River lake surrounding the property. The carefully designed infinity pool, built on solid limestone, overlooks the lake and stretches toward endless forests. Covering nearly 500 square meters, the pool has a gradually sloping depth from 0.5m to 1.8m.

Designed by a young and talented architect in a contemporary minimalist style, the resort harmoniously combines natural materials. Opened in 2019 with 30 guest rooms, all accommodations feature large windows or balconies with stunning views of Hoa Binh Lake, forests, gardens, or the pool, allowing guests to feel close to nature and enjoy the year-round cool climate.

A small stream flowing around the resort creates a poetic landscape, reminiscent of a Japanese painting. Beyond a relaxing holiday, Bakhan Village Resort also highlights unique cultural values and physical activities, making each stay in Son Thuy a truly enriching experience.

Son Thuy is predominantly inhabited by the Muong ethnic group, whose cultural traditions are fascinating. Every Saturday evening, guests can enjoy authentic Muong cultural performances and interact with the local community.

For those who love adventure, bicycles are available for exploring winding dirt paths through villages, bamboo groves, cornfields, and cool forest shade. Breathing in the refreshing scent of flowers and greenery along the way is a delightful way to release all fatigue.

At Bakhan Village Resort, guests not only rest and enjoy unique cuisine but also experience a large garden space of 2 hectares (20,000 m²) and a children’s playground. The resort’s garden grows grapefruit, oranges, lemons, pears, squash, mugwort, and watermelons. Particularly, wild ferns thrive naturally in the flowing streams, preserving the local ecosystem.
